About Me

Hi, my name is Harsh Patel! I have a BS in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside, which provided me with a strong foundation in software development. I am skilled in creating and enhancing web applications, and I've recently worked with backend technologies like Python (Flask), Java (Spring Boot), and Go (Gingonic). I am passionate about backend development, particularly working with APIs, algorithms, and data structures, which is my forte.

I am also growing in frontend development using the React library with TypeScript and JavaScript. Receiving data from APIs on the frontend and designing the best way to showcase it is fascinating to me. It's exciting to bring data to life through visually appealing user interfaces using libraries(MUI, NextUI, TailwindUI).

Something interesting I've been improving is my skill with Docker. I enjoy containerizing services for development, which streamlines the workflow. I'm a fast-paced learner with strong dedication to completing tasks and features for projects efficiently.

PenguinPal is an AI-powered email management system that streamlines email content into concise summaries, categorizes, and prioritizes inboxes. Developed during a hackathon, the project expanded from 2 to 5 developers, overcoming challenges like team coordination and data privacy. In the prototype we used React and Python to build an MVP in 24 hours. Future plans include refining AI algorithms, expanding beta testing, and developing email client integrations.
